Makeup Brush Manufacturer in China: OEM & Private Label Guide
Choosing a makeup brush manufacturer in China means matching the factory to your brush specification, customisation level and order size. Compare the brush head, fibre, ferrule, handle, logo and packaging as one product. Approve a production-intent sample and written acceptance checks before placing the bulk order.
HunterSourcing is a China sourcing agent, not a makeup brush factory. We help buyers compare suppliers, coordinate samples, follow orders and arrange agreed quality inspection and logistics. Confirm our fees, deliverables and approval responsibilities in the project quotation.
1. China makeup brush manufacturers to investigate
Use the following supplier websites to start a shortlist, then verify the legal business, manufacturing site and capability for your exact order. The entries are not a ranked endorsement or a list of HunterSourcing-audited factories. Factory identity and production responsibility still need verification.
| Supplier / stated location | Product and customisation scope | Published MOQ and limits | Sampling / unresolved decision |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gracedo / Yuanmei profile Shenzhen; About page names Yuanmei |
Brushes, sets and packaging; OEM/ODM | No scoped numerical MOQ verified on reviewed pages | Confirm contracting entity, sample charges and design/colour minimums |
| Kosmos Brush China-based; production address to verify |
Existing styles or deeper component customisation | 3,000/style; 1,000 sets or pouch style | Samples 7-12 days, priced by complexity; confirm package minimum |
| SOMUB / contact Fenggang, Dongguan contact address |
Singles, sets, packaging; advertises FBA preparation | Website advertises orders from 20 pieces; full-custom scope unclear | Free-sample offer needs stock/custom and courier confirmation |
| ZUKIMM Website: Shenzhen headquarters; Dongguan factory |
Private-label brushes and related beauty tools | Custom brushes: 1,000 pieces; model/colour split unspecified | Request sample terms, site identity and specification-specific schedule |
| YRSOOPRISA Shenzhen, as stated on official site |
Existing-model logo work or full OEM design | 500-1,000/model for logo; 1,000-3,000 full custom | Article: samples 5-10 working days; other listings differ, confirm project terms |
| BS-MALL / contact Foshan office; contact page names Foshan Jieruimei |
Brushes, sets and packaging design | Homepage from 30 pcs; wholesale section from 50; not a universal custom MOQ | Stock-sample offer excludes courier unless agreed; verify production site |
These are supplier website statements, not independent factory audits. An office address is not evidence of a production site. Use each row to decide which supplier deserves the same RFQ, then verify the legal seller and actual manufacturing location. Low advertised minimums may concern stock items rather than a new brush design, colour and printed package.
Factory, trader and sourcing agent have different roles
A factory can be suitable when a defined design needs repeat production. A trader may combine existing products or stock styles. A sourcing agent helps coordinate checks and communication on the buyer’s behalf. Ask who purchases components, assembles the brushes, packs the sets and handles rejected goods. Keep the contracting entity and payment beneficiary consistent with the agreed order documents.
2. Define the brush before comparing quotations
A product photograph cannot define softness, pickup, density, balance or durability. Specify the intended cosmetic formula and use, then compare samples under the same conditions. A brush developed for loose powder should not automatically become the approved tool for a liquid foundation simply because its colour matches the range.
| Component / field | What to specify | Evidence to ask for |
|---|---|---|
| Brush use and head | Powder, foundation, blush, contour, eye or lip application; head profile and intended formula | Labelled reference sample and application comparison |
| Bristles / fibres | Exact synthetic polymer or natural-hair description; exposed length, density, colour and feel | Material description and retained reference; evidence for animal-free or recycled claims |
| Ferrule | Aluminium, brass or agreed material; diameter, length, wall/finish and crimp | Dimensions, finish reference and assembly criteria |
| Handle | Wood, bamboo, plastic or other agreed material; length, shape, finish and balance | Material identity, measurements and coating sample |
| Dimensions / weight | Measurement points in mm, brush weight in g and tolerances | Model-specific drawing or specification; GSM generally not a meaningful whole-brush measure |
| Colours / logo | Colour reference, logo artwork, position and application method | Approved artwork proof and physical logo sample |
| Set configuration | Brush models per set, colour variants and accessory/pouch contents | Itemised bill of materials and packing list |
| Packing | Individual protection, pouch or retail box, labels and export carton | Approved packaging sample, carton sizes/weights and SKU mapping |
Synthetic and natural fibres: approve performance and claims separately
Manufacturers offer synthetic and natural-hair options, but a material name alone does not establish application performance. Ask for the specific fibre, profile and finishing process. Compare powder pickup, release, blending, feel, shedding and shape retention with the intended formula. A supplier’s trade name should be translated into a clear material specification.
A synthetic brush head does not by itself prove that the complete product meets a vegan, cruelty-free, recycled or environmental claim. Clarify whether the claim concerns fibres, adhesives, coatings, packaging or the whole product, and ask for supporting records for the agreed scope. Avoid “non-toxic”, “hypoallergenic” or “antibacterial” claims unless the exact product and claim are supported by appropriate evidence.
Choose a stock-based launch or a new design
Our procurement recommendation is to compare the least complex option that meets the brief before paying for new tooling. This decision framework is analysis, not a claim that any listed factory accepts your order.
| Situation | Practical next step | Evidence needed to move forward |
|---|---|---|
| Testing demand for one brush | Start by comparing existing shapes with logo and simple packaging | Physical sample plus separate model, colour and packaging minimums |
| Launching a distinctive shape or balance | Request full custom development and identify tooling ownership | Drawing, revision limits, tooling cost and production-intent sample |
| Building a multi-brush set | Approve each component as well as the assembled pack | Model-by-model quantities and set bill of materials; avoid a set MOQ hiding component minimums |
| Sample sheds or changes shape after washing | Record the agreed wash/dry method and compare like-for-like; investigate fibre and assembly before repeating the test | Labelled sample photos, method, findings and corrective action; do not invent a universal acceptable hair count |
| Ferrule is loose or the replacement sample differs | Hold that model for corrective action and reapproval | Joint test method and threshold agreed in advance; updated specification and retained reference |
Build a useful brush set rather than adding pieces for its own sake
Choose the set around the customer’s actual routine. Define which model performs each task, whether two brushes overlap, and how the pouch or box protects the heads. A larger piece count can increase component minimums, packing labour and inspection complexity without making the set more useful.

3. Compare MOQ, sampling and production time
MOQ is usually tied to a style, colour, component or packaging process. Ask whether your requested quantity is measured in single brushes or finished sets. Do not combine a set quantity with a per-brush price, and do not treat a packaging minimum as the minimum for the complete product.
| Supplier / source | Published MOQ example | Published timing example | Conditions to verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kosmos OEM/ODM page | 3,000 units per single-brush style; 1,000 sets/pouch styles | Sampling 7–12 days; bulk 25–35 days | Confirm materials, packaging, quantity and approval trigger |
| YRSOOPRISA OEM article | 500–1,000 pcs/model for standard model + logo; 1,000–3,000 for fully custom designs | Samples 5–10 working days; standard bulk 20–35 days | Article distinguishes complex packaging and peak-season booking |
| ZUKIMM official website | Website states 1,000 pieces for custom makeup brushes | A project-specific timeline must be requested | Confirm the model, colour minimum, packaging and sample/production schedule |
These are dated website claims checked on 23 October 2026, not independently audited capacity or binding quotations. They show why a universal “samples in 3–7 days, bulk in 15–45 days” promise would be unreliable for every project. Ask the selected supplier to confirm its current schedule, revisions, artwork approval, material readiness, peak-season delays and shipping definition in writing.
Three illustrative buyer scenarios
The following quantities are planning examples, not actual customer cases or promised minimums.
| Buyer / brief | Illustrative quantity | Procurement decision |
|---|---|---|
| A startup testing one hero brush | 1,000 single brushes in 2 colours: 500 per colour if split equally | Check the colour minimum and use an existing shape before funding tooling |
| A brand launching a six-brush set | 600 sets × 6 brushes = 3,600 brushes | Each of the 6 models needs 600 pieces; confirm component and package minimums separately |
| A distributor planning a larger collection | 1,200 sets × 8 brushes = 9,600 brushes | Reserve component consistency and a documented reorder specification across the set |
For each brief, identify the intended destination, target user, cosmetic formulas, sales channel and launch date. Decide which specification is essential and which feature can be simplified if the minimum or budget does not fit. A supplier should confirm the whole assortment rather than quoting only the easiest component.
Download the makeup brush RFQ and comparison worksheet
Download the fillable Makeup Brush RFQ PDF. This two-page, 30-field worksheet covers the product brief and supplier commercial response. It is a blank procurement tool, not a product catalogue, factory quotation or completed inspection report.
- Use one product brief per model. Add reference photographs, measurement points, colours and packaging artwork.
- Request 1,000 / 3,000 / 5,000-unit prices only where those quantities fit the project, with minimums per model, colour and package.
- Ask each supplier to return its own quote, sample/revision terms, trade-term location, lead-time trigger and defect remedy.
- Keep unresolved fields marked unconfirmed. Attach the approved sample version before releasing production.
You can send the completed brief to info@huntersourcing.com or use the existing enquiry form. Include brush type, quantity and destination in the message. Ask us to scope supplier comparison, sample coordination and inspection separately, with fees and responsibilities confirmed before work starts.
4. Ask for itemised prices and compare total cost
FOB prices depend on the model, fibre, head size and density, ferrule, handle finish, logo, packaging and quantity. There is no defensible single price range for all single brushes and complete sets. Request current tier prices for the same bill of materials, with currency, units, quotation date, validity and named trade-term location. Avoid using an old catalogue price as a current offer.
| Cost line | Required detail | Common comparison error |
|---|---|---|
| Brush or set price | Price per single brush or per complete set; exact model contents | Comparing a per-brush listing with a finished-set quotation |
| Quantity tiers | Your trial quantity, reorder quantity and the MOQ for each variant | Assuming the total order meets every style/colour minimum |
| Development / logo | Artwork, special tools, setup, sample fees and revisions | Ignoring fixed charges in a small launch |
| Packaging | Pouch/box, inserts, printing, labels and carton packing | Treating a picture of a box as an included specification |
| Delivery scope | Incoterms version, named port/place, freight inclusions and destination exclusions | Comparing EXW and FOB prices as if they include identical work |
Public supplier price references: budget signals, not project quotations
The YRSOOPRISA supplier-operated showroom on Made-in-China displayed the following FOB-labelled prices when checked on 23 October 2026. These are two different products from one seller, not a market average, comparable bids or HunterSourcing offers.
| Listing / model | Seller showroom price | Displayed minimum | Evidence limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Premium foundation / eyeshadow set, YR02 | US$6.99-11.89 per set | 500 sets | Description identifies 13 brushes, synthetic hair, aluminium ferrules and wood handles; fields elsewhere mention animal hair, so material must be reconfirmed |
| Synthetic all-purpose set, yrs051 | US$7.20-10.80 per set | Showroom: 100 sets; detail page: 500 sets | Description identifies 10 pieces; conflicting minimums prevent treating 100 sets as a confirmed custom order |
The detailed pages each display an US$80/set sample option, separate from bulk prices. Their lead-time fields also conflict: YR02 lists 30-35 working days in one section and 50 days for up to 500 sets elsewhere; yrs051 lists 15 working days and also 50 days. Obtain one written quotation identifying the model, fibre, packaging, quantity, sample fee and delivery trigger before budgeting or promising a launch date.
No verified same-specification tier quotation for 1,000, 3,000 and 5,000 units was obtained. The RFQ below leaves those prices blank for supplier responses. A price range on a listing does not establish the discount at each quantity. Older downloadable catalogues were excluded as current price evidence.
Compare the full order cost
Calculate: product quantity x agreed unit price + separate tooling/logo/packaging charges + inspection + origin transport/export costs not included in the trade term + freight + insurance + destination charges and applicable taxes. Check each inclusion once to avoid double-counting FOB or freight charges. Divide the total by saleable finished sets, not by the number of individual brushes.
5. Approve samples and inspect sample-to-bulk consistency
The approved sample should represent the intended production materials, construction and finish. A showroom sample made with different fibre or assembly methods is not enough. Record which changes are still open, approve the final version, and retain a labelled reference with the buyer and supplier.
- Confirm the model, component materials, dimensions and reference version.
- Approve application performance, feel, finish, logo and packaging.
- Agree measurable inspection criteria, sampling plan and defect categories.
- Record findings with model/lot references and clear photographs.
- Approve corrections, reinspection and release before the agreed dispatch/payment gate.
| Check | How to make it specific | Record |
|---|---|---|
| Head shape / application | Use the approved profile and intended cosmetic formula; compare under agreed conditions | Reference photos and application observations |
| Shedding / shape retention | Agree washing/drying method, number of cycles, handling and acceptance criteria | Test method, sample IDs and observed changes |
| Ferrule / handle assembly | Define joint looseness, alignment, pull or other relevant test method and threshold | Test specification and measured results |
| Dimensions / finish | Use the agreed measurement points, tolerances, colour and finish references | Measurements and defect photos |
| Logo / packing | Check artwork version, placement, rub resistance where agreed, set contents and labels | SKU/lot/carton reconciliation |
Do not invent a universal pull-force, wash-cycle or AQL acceptance value. Set the inspection plan for the product and risk, including lot size, sampling basis, defect definitions and release decisions. Sampling does not prove every brush is defect-free. Ask whether additional material or chemical testing is needed for your destination and claims. Our China quality inspection service explains how to discuss an agreed inspection scope.
Match certificates and test reports to the actual product
Separate factory management-system evidence, social-audit records, forestry/material claims and product test reports. A certificate logo does not prove that your particular brush, glue, coating and packaging have been checked. Ask the responsible importer or qualified testing partner which current destination requirements apply, then verify the named business, issuing body, scope, model/material coverage and validity. A makeup brush is not automatically covered by a generic cosmetics, GMP, FDA or CE claim.
6. Agree payment, shipping and repeat-order controls
Agree sample charges, any deposit, balance conditions and the evidence required before release. T/T may be proposed by a supplier, but no fixed deposit split is a universal HunterSourcing policy. Verify the beneficiary against the contracting entity and keep quotation, approvals and invoices together. Write down the defect claim period, evidence required, remedy and responsibility for correction or replacement costs before ordering.
Separate production completion from transport. Request route-specific air, sea or parcel estimates, with FCL/LCL or consolidation and any FBA preparation clearly included or excluded. Define whether the estimate ends at a port, airport, warehouse or final address. Protect brush heads against deformation, keep packs clean and dry, and reconcile carton contents with the commercial documents. Discuss collection and shipping scope with our logistics service.
For reorders, retain the bill of materials, approved sample, head dimensions, fibre details, colour, artwork, packaging and inspection criteria. Require approval before substitutions. Ask what happens when a fibre, finish, handle or pouch is discontinued. Repeatability matters more than receiving an attractive first sample.
7. How HunterSourcing can help your brush project
Send the brush types or reference photos, single-brush/set quantities, colour variants, intended formulas, material preferences, logo artwork, packaging, destination and required launch date. We can discuss supplier comparison, factory verification, sample coordination, order follow-up, inspection and consolidation within an agreed project scope. The quotation should identify tasks, reporting, fees, exclusions and who approves the product.
For a coordinated beauty range, compare our wholesale cosmetics supplier guide. Brushes and cosmetic formulas require different specifications, so review each product separately. Company background and contact details are available on our About page.

Makeup brush manufacturer FAQs
What is the MOQ for private-label makeup brushes?
MOQ depends on the brush style, fibre, handle, logo method, packaging and whether the order is in brushes or sets. Ask each supplier for its minimum per style, colour and set, including separate minimums for custom components and printed packaging.
How can I compare the true cost of a custom makeup brush?
Request an itemised quote for the exact brush head, fibre, ferrule, handle, logo, packaging and quantity. Separate sampling, tooling, inspection, freight and destination costs, and compare quotes using the same currency and trade terms.
Should I choose synthetic or natural bristles?
Select fibre for the intended formula, desired feel and performance, not only for its name. Test candidate samples with the actual liquid, cream or powder product, then compare application, cleaning, shape retention and sourcing documentation. Availability and destination rules may differ.
Are synthetic makeup brushes automatically vegan and cruelty-free?
Not necessarily. Ask what each claim covers, including the fibre, adhesive, coatings and packaging, and request evidence appropriate to the product and market. A synthetic brush head alone does not establish a whole-product or supply-chain claim.
Why do makeup brushes shed, and how can buyers check this?
Shedding can relate to fibre retention, construction, wear or cleaning conditions. Compare samples using an agreed gentle handling and wash procedure, note loose fibres, and agree an inspection method and acceptance limits with the supplier before production. No sample test can guarantee zero shedding.
How can I check that the ferrule and handle will stay secure?
Inspect the fit and finish, then agree a repeatable assembly-strength and cleaning test appropriate to the brush design. Check for movement, cracks, corrosion or separation after testing; document the method, sample size and acceptance criteria with the supplier.
What should I test before approving a makeup brush sample?
Use the intended formula to assess pickup, blending and comfort. Check head shape and dimensions, fibre density, shedding, finish, logo and packaging; photograph and retain the approved reference. Record test conditions and permitted variations before ordering.
Can I customise brush shapes, logos and packaging?
Ask whether the factory can supply the required head shape, fibres, handle and ferrule finishes, logo application and set configuration. Confirm tooling ownership and charges, packaging artwork, sample approval and separate minimum quantities for each component.
How long do samples and bulk production take?
Request separate written dates for artwork approval, component sourcing, sample revisions, production, inspection and shipment. Timing depends on the design and supplier; published supplier examples are references rather than a guarantee for your order.
What evidence should I request for materials and quality?
Request material specifications, traceability and applicable test reports for the actual brush, claims and destination. Check report issuer, product identity, scope and date. Management-system or factory-audit documents are different from product-specific test results.
