Souvenir Manufacturer in China: Custom Gifts, MOQ & Costs
CHINA SOURCING GUIDE · CUSTOM SOUVENIRS
Choose a souvenir manufacturer by material, production process and the evidence behind its quote. A factory that makes a metal landmark keychain may not be the right partner for a ceramic mug or a printed museum magnet. Start with a comparable specification, approve a physical sample and price the complete order before committing to production.
HunterSourcing helps overseas gift shops, museum stores, tourism businesses and promotional buyers source from China. We are a sourcing agent, not a factory: we help you verify manufacturers and manage the order process, with the service scope agreed for your project.
Prepared by the HunterSourcing team · Supplier references reviewed 22 October 2026; shortlist rechecked 25 October 2026. Supplier figures are published references, not our quotations or proof of an audit.

What does souvenir mean?
These third-party videos supplement the sourcing background. They do not show a HunterSourcing-owned factory or replace verification of your selected supplier.
1. Souvenir manufacturers to investigate in China
Use product-specific searches, supplier directories, trade fairs and local sourcing support to build a shortlist. A broad supplier listing is a discovery tool; it does not prove that every company listed owns a factory or can make your exact design. Our product sourcing service can help organize comparable requirements and supplier follow-up.
Examples worth investigating include Logoson for a broad souvenir range, Kingtop for custom metal products and TALMUD for multiple souvenir categories. Their inclusion is based on public product pages, not a HunterSourcing factory audit, preferred-supplier agreement or guarantee.
| Candidate / official source | Published product scope | Published MOQ or packaging reference | Published sample / bulk timing | Evidence to verify for your order |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| China Keychain Factory / Sidiou | Keychains and selected metal or promotional souvenirs | Selected logo printing from 100 pieces; custom packaging from 1,000 pieces | Samples 3-7 days; bulk 15-30 days after sample confirmation | Legal entity, production site, exact material / finish, artwork rights and current quotation |
| Kingtop | Custom metal souvenirs including keychains and related gifts | Typically 1,000 pieces per design on its published page | About 7 days for a sample; typically 15-20 days after sample approval | Current MOQ by finish, plating / enamel options, mold ownership and report scope |
| Customento | Coasters, magnets and related printed souvenirs | From 100 pieces for its listed program | Design-specific sample schedule; published production reference 7-10 days | Confirm product family, material, print method and whether the quoted schedule starts after artwork approval |
| WINTEL | Promotional and corporate gift range | From 100 pieces per design in its published program | Samples 3-5 working days; bulk 7-15 working days after approval | Check the exact product, decoration, packaging and whether working-day references include artwork changes |
| Logoson | Broad souvenir and promotional product catalogue | No project-specific MOQ verified in this review | Request product-specific sample and bulk dates | Treat catalogue breadth as discovery only; verify the manufacturer behind the quoted item |
| TALMUD | Multiple souvenir categories | No project-specific MOQ verified in this review | Request the exact model and production route | Confirm legal seller, factory site, product-specific tests and whether decoration is in-house |
Before a deposit, connect the quotation to the supplier’s legal business name, production address and payment beneficiary. Ask which work is performed at that address and which processes are subcontracted. Verify that the sample was produced using the proposed bulk process and keep the approved artwork revision with the order.
- Manufacturing evidence: a current walkthrough tied to the relevant process, equipment and production site.
- Product evidence: samples, drawings, material declarations and applicable test reports for the proposed construction.
- Commercial evidence: written tooling ownership, inspection access, delivery milestones and claim terms.
Where are souvenirs produced in China?
2. Define the souvenir specification by product family
A useful RFQ describes the finished item, rather than just asking for the cheapest souvenir. Specify the selling market and intended user first. Then define the material, size, decoration, color, attachment, packaging and acceptance criteria. Where you do not know a value, ask the factory to propose alternatives and quote them separately.
| Product family | Material and dimensions to define | Decoration and packing | Checks before approval |
|---|---|---|---|
| Metal keychains, pins and bottle openers | Base alloy, finished length/width/thickness and weight; ring or opener construction | Plating reference, enamel/print method, Pantone colors; backing card or individual pack | Sharp edges, ring assembly, plating appearance, artwork legibility and opening function |
| PVC or silicone magnets and keychains | Actual polymer, hardness, raised layers and dimensions; magnet or ring attachment | Color map and relief drawing; individual bags or display cards | Material declaration, attachment security, color consistency and intended-user assessment |
| Acrylic or MDF magnets | Substrate, thickness, shape, edge finish and magnet arrangement | Print location, protective film, artwork revision; scratch protection | Print alignment, surface condition, edge quality and adhesion |
| Resin figurines and landmark miniatures | Resin formulation, footprint, height and finished weight | Paint reference, base label and individual protective insert | Broken projections, paint finish, stable base and transit packing |
| Ceramic mugs, coasters and plates | Ceramic type, dimensions, capacity if applicable and intended food contact | Decoration process, finish and protective carton | Chips, cracks, decoration durability and applicable migration testing |
| Souvenir tote bags and apparel | Fiber composition, dimensions, fabric GSM, color and construction | Print or embroidery artwork, labels and folding/packing | Seam strength, print position, colorfastness and label accuracy |
GSM is relevant to textiles; it is not a substitute for metal thickness or ceramic capacity. Record tolerances in the approved specification. Ask for a bill of materials when a product combines plastic, paint, metal hardware and magnets.
3. Compare MOQ, samples and production timing
Separate stock decoration from a newly tooled product. Stock items with a printed destination name can have a different minimum from a new casting, custom paint scheme or retail box. Ask whether the minimum applies to the entire order, each design, each color or each packaging version.
| Published source | MOQ or packaging minimum | Sample time | Bulk production reference |
|---|---|---|---|
| China Keychain Factory / Sidiou OEM page | 100 pieces for selected logo printing; custom packaging from 1,000 pieces | 3–7 days | 15–30 days after sample confirmation |
| Kingtop custom metal souvenirs | Typically 1,000 pieces per design | About 7 days after details are confirmed | Typically 15–20 days after sample approval |
| Customento coasters and magnets | From 100 pieces for its listed program | Request a design-specific sample schedule | Published production reference: 7–10 days |
| WINTEL promotional gifts | From 100 pieces per design in its published program | 3–5 working days | 7–15 working days after approval |
References reviewed 22 October 2026. These are each supplier’s own statements; products and conditions differ. Days and working days are not interchangeable. Testing, sample shipping, artwork revisions and holiday congestion can extend the calendar. A paid sample is a separate request; do not assume it is free or that a bulk MOQ also applies to samples.
If you need fewer pieces, request an existing mold, simplified decoration, standard packing or a mixed stock order. A lower product MOQ can still leave you paying a larger packaging minimum. Agree who owns unused printed packaging and whether it can be held for reorders.
4. Compare the complete order cost
Compare quotes on the same unit and delivery term. A price per piece can omit tooling, decoration, individual packaging, inspection or export handling. FOB must name the shipment port and identify the responsibilities included; it does not include international freight, import duty or destination delivery. For containerized, air or courier shipments, agree an appropriate term such as FCA rather than applying FOB to every transport mode.
For a limited starting-price reference, Naike’s published keychain page advertises selected acrylic, PVC and zinc-alloy styles from approximately US$0.28, US$0.32 and US$0.52 per piece respectively. The page’s entry prices do not establish a comparable FOB quote for your artwork. Request a dated offer stating the exact size, finish, quantity, packaging and shipping term.
| Cost line | What the supplier quote should state | What HunterSourcing / buyer must add |
|---|---|---|
| Finished goods | Exact product, material, size, finish, decoration, quantity tier, currency and validity | Check the same specification across every candidate |
| Tooling / mold / setup | One-off charge, ownership, revision limit and whether it is refundable or amortized | Keep the charge separate from the recurring unit price |
| Decoration / logo | Print, embroidery, laser, enamel or plating method; color count and artwork revision | Approve the artwork and physical decoration sample |
| Packaging | Inner bag, backing card, box, label, barcode, carton and any packaging MOQ | Do not add a packaging charge twice if included in the product price |
| Samples / courier | Sample charge, customization, courier, customs treatment and credit conditions | Confirm whether the sample fee is refundable and under what order value |
| Testing / compliance | Test method, sample identity, laboratory and report owner | Use only the evidence required for the actual product and destination |
| Inspection / reinspection | Checklist, lot size, sampling plan, defect rules and corrective-action scope | Agree who pays for a repeat inspection caused by supplier defects |
| HunterSourcing service fee | Fixed or percentage basis, included tasks, exclusions, minimum and applicable tax | Show the fee separately; disclose any supplier commission or rebate |
| Origin handling / export | Packing, local transport, documentation and named Incoterm place | Use the same port / place and quote validity for every supplier |
| Freight / insurance | Mode, route, actual or volumetric weight and included delivery scope | Separate sample courier, air, LCL or FCL and destination delivery |
| Duty / tax / customs | Importer, broker, tariff treatment and recoverable tax | Validate locally; a supplier does not guarantee destination charges |
| After-sales allowance | Claim window, evidence, repair / replacement / credit and freight owner | Reserve an agreed allowance in the project budget rather than relying on a verbal promise |
Total acquisition cost = product price × accepted quantity + tooling / setup + decoration + packaging + samples + testing + inspection + HunterSourcing service fee + origin handling + freight / insurance + applicable duties / taxes + agreed after-sales allowance. Add a charge only when it is not already included in another line. State currency, quantity, Incoterm place and quote validity beside the total.
Request tier quotes for the quantities you could actually buy. Ask the supplier to identify which change reduces cost: an existing mold, lighter material, fewer colors, a different finish or higher volume. A cheaper piece that requires expensive protective packing may not produce a cheaper landed order.

5. Approve samples and inspect the bulk lot
Write the inspection plan before bulk production. A metal opener, painted figurine and ceramic mug need different functional checks. Our quality inspection support can be scoped around the product specification and the agreed acceptance criteria.
- 1 · VerifyConfirm the entity, factory location and processes.
- 2 · SpecifyFreeze artwork, materials, packing and defect definitions.
- 3 · ApproveIdentify the signed-off physical sample and version.
- 4 · Follow upCheck first production against that reference.
- 5 · InspectRecord measurements, functions, defects and carton checks.
- 6 · ReleaseAgree corrections and shipment release in writing.
AQL sampling requires the lot size, inspection level, defect classes and acceptance/rejection numbers. QIMA’s worked example uses a 4,000-unit lot, General Inspection Level II and AQL 2.5, giving a 200-unit sample with acceptance at 10 defective units and rejection at 11. This is a specific example, not a universal souvenir plan. Specify separate safety controls; a sampling pass never means that every piece is defect-free.
A useful report identifies the supplier and lot, sample size, approved reference, actual findings, defect photographs, packing condition and disposition. For a resin miniature, check fragile projections and paint; for a keychain, check sharp edges, hardware and attachment; for a mug, check chips, cracks and relevant performance criteria. Request a redacted sample report before booking the work. Supplier images or certificate logos cannot replace it.
| Check | Agree before testing | Evidence to retain |
|---|---|---|
| Identity / artwork | Product ID, material, dimensions, finish, artwork revision, attachment and packaging version | Photos, drawing, artwork file and approved reference sample |
| Decoration | Color reference, print method, placement, adhesion or plating acceptance | Physical sample, color standard and test result |
| Function | Attachment, magnet / ring security, opening function or other intended use | Test method, result, failed sample and buyer decision |
| Safety / compliance | Required tests for intended user and destination | Report with model, material, laboratory and date |
| Packing | Individual protection, label, barcode, carton count and transport test | Packing specification, photos and sample carton |
| Bulk lot | Lot identity, selection method, defect classes and sampling plan | Serial / carton selection, findings, photos and release decision |
6. Match documents to the product and destination
Classify the product by its intended user, destination and actual use. ISO 9001 describes a quality-management system; it does not replace product testing. Avoid treating GMP, OEKO-TEX, FDA, CE, RoHS and a safety data sheet as interchangeable certificates. Ask the importer or an appropriate laboratory to identify the requirements for the exact item.
| Product or destination | Question to resolve | Evidence to request |
|---|---|---|
| Magnetic souvenirs for the United States | Does the item fall within the applicable magnet rule or a toy rule? Could magnets or attached components become loose? | Written scope assessment and relevant testing/certification; see CPSC magnet guidance |
| Children’s souvenirs and toy-like items | What age group and foreseeable use apply? Which mechanical and chemical requirements follow? | Product-specific testing and documentation confirmed for the intended market; a decorative label alone is insufficient |
| Food-contact mugs or tableware | Is it intended for food contact? Do glaze, decoration and materials require migration testing? | Applicable food-contact reports matched to the actual model and materials; see FDA ceramicware lead guidance |
| Non-food consumer souvenirs for the EU | Which product-safety, identification, traceability and economic-operator duties apply? Is a more specific product law relevant? | A market-specific file and the responsible parties’ details; start with the European Commission’s product-safety guidance |
Check the issuing laboratory, report date, model, material and test scope. Do not accept a report for a different resin, coating or magnet as proof for your order. Battery-powered souvenirs and electrical gifts need their own assessment, including the shipping documents applicable to any batteries.
7. Agree logistics, payment and after-sales terms
Work backward from the required delivery date. Record artwork approval, physical sample approval, material readiness, production completion, inspection, correction, dispatch and arrival separately. The sample and bulk-production references above describe customization and manufacturing time; they are not transport times. Ask how the factory’s holiday schedule or peak-season capacity affects each milestone.
| Route or mode | Suitable decision to compare | Get in writing |
|---|---|---|
| Express courier | Samples and small urgent shipments | Dispatch date, destination postcode, quoted transit days, actual/volumetric weight and customs assumptions |
| Air freight | Time-sensitive commercial batches | Airport-to-airport versus door delivery, chargeable weight, handling, clearance and last-mile time |
| Sea freight: LCL or FCL | Larger consolidated orders | Named origin/destination ports, sailing/transshipment, port-to-port days, consolidation, destination charges and delivery buffer |
| Amazon/FBA destination | Shipments that must meet a receiving specification | Carton labels, prep, importer arrangements, booking/appointment and the portion of the journey included |
There is no single reliable China-to-world transit range for every souvenir order. Obtain a current route-specific estimate rather than combining a factory production promise with an assumed freight time. For a fragile figurine, include carton dimensions and protective packing in the freight comparison; a low product price can be outweighed by volume or breakage.
For payment, a 30% deposit / 70% balance arrangement can be used as an illustrative negotiating structure, not a HunterSourcing policy or a promise that every supplier will accept it. Agree the balance trigger, inspection access and correction process before sending a T/T payment. Verify beneficiary details independently when bank information changes.
After-sales terms should define how quickly a claim must be raised, which photos or inspection records are needed, who investigates, and whether the remedy is rework, credit or replacement. Specify freight responsibility and reorder color/mold consistency. Do not assume inexpensive items have no remedy or that every supplier offers a blanket warranty.
| Stage | Buyer / operator record | Supplier and agent action |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Report | Order, SKU, affected quantity, defect description, photos and approved sample reference | Acknowledge receipt and identify the contact responsible |
| 2. Diagnose | Inspect the affected item and compare it with the approved sample | Determine whether the cause is material, decoration, packing or use |
| 3. Agree remedy | Decide repair, replacement, credit or accepted deviation with a documented scope | Confirm parts, labor, freight, duty, payer and deadline before shipping |
| 4. Verify | Retest the failed characteristic on the corrected goods | Provide corrective-action evidence and replacement batch record |
| 5. Close | Buyer accepts, rejects or authorizes partial release by quantity | Keep unresolved goods open until the buyer signs the disposition |
8. Three buying scenarios and the next decision
These are illustrative planning scenarios, not customer case studies or achieved results.
1. A destination shop testing a new magnet design
Assume 500 magnets across 2 artwork versions. Ask whether the quoted minimum applies to each version or to the combined order. Compare a printed existing shape with a newly molded landmark. If a custom box requires 1,000 units, ask about standard packing plus a smaller printed label run. Count unsold packaging in the launch budget and establish a reorder reference sample.
2. A museum developing a licensed metal keepsake
Assume 1,000 pieces of one design. Obtain written artwork permission, define the relief and plating, and approve a sample before the mold or surface process is repeated at scale. The cited Kingtop program illustrates why a 1,000-piece minimum can fit this route, but only a project quotation can confirm feasibility. Treat licensing and the sample signature as release gates.
3. An event buyer with a fixed arrival date
Assume 3,000 keychains are required for a conference. Compare a ready shape with logo decoration against a fully custom casting. A planning exercise could allocate 7 days to samples, 20 to production and an assumed 14 to transport/contingency: 41 days before allowing for artwork changes or testing. The 14-day allowance is a scenario input, not a carrier estimate. Confirm a live freight schedule and decide whether a smaller first shipment is worth quoting separately.

How HunterSourcing supports your souvenir order
We can help define the sourcing brief, compare suppliers in China, coordinate samples, follow up agreed production milestones, arrange inspection and consolidate shipments. The selected factory manufactures the goods; the work we perform and its fees are agreed for your project. For broader requirements, see our China sourcing services.
Ask for a supplier-comparison sheet, an approval log and the inspection scope relevant to your order. Discuss what evidence can be shared for the selected factory, including a current walkthrough and applicable reports. Keep the legal entity, sample version, quotation and payment terms in one project record so a reorder can be checked against the same baseline.
Souvenir manufacturer FAQ
How do I choose a souvenir manufacturer in China?
Match the supplier to the product material and process, then compare the same artwork, dimensions, quantity, packaging and delivery term. Verify the contracting company, production site, relevant subcontractors and product-specific evidence before approving bulk production.
Can I order a small batch of custom souvenirs?
Ask for the minimum per design, colour and product, and separately for printed packaging. An existing shape with simple decoration may have different setup requirements from a newly tooled design. Request a written quote for your exact quantity; small-batch terms vary by supplier.
What artwork and specifications should I send the factory?
Supply authorised artwork in an agreed editable format, finished size, colours, material, finish, attachment and packaging details. Ask for a production proof showing dimensions, colour references and any manufacturing changes. For metal pins or molded items, confirm whether small text and fine lines are feasible for the selected process.
Do I need a mold, and who owns it?
A new shape or tooling-based process may require a mold or die; an existing shape with printed artwork may use different setup. Ask for the tooling charge, ownership, storage period, maintenance, reorder policy and whether the tooling can be transferred, all in writing before payment.
Can I approve a physical sample before bulk production?
Request a production-intent sample in the agreed material, finish and packaging where feasible. Confirm sample, tooling and courier fees, the number of revisions and whether the factory retains a matching approved reference. A digital mockup alone does not show the finished material or construction.
How do I compare the full cost of custom souvenirs?
Compare the same product specification and quantity, then separate unit price, artwork setup, tooling, samples, packaging, inspection, service fees and freight. Specify the currency, quotation validity and named delivery term; calculate duties and destination costs with the responsible importer.
How long do samples and production take?
Ask for separate dates for artwork approval, tooling, sample manufacture, revisions, bulk production, inspection and shipment. The starting point and duration vary by process and supplier; allow for holidays and transport separately, and confirm time-sensitive delivery commitments in writing.
Can I use a landmark, logo, character or museum image?
You can provide your own artwork or licensed material, subject to production feasibility. Confirm the rights and permissions needed for the specific image, logo or design with the rights holder or a qualified adviser. Agree confidentiality, mold use and whether the supplier may display or reuse the artwork.
Which safety tests or certificates apply to souvenirs?
Requirements depend on the actual product, materials, intended user and destination. Children’s items, magnets and food-contact products may face different rules. Ask the importer or a qualified laboratory to assess the product and verify that any test report covers the correct model and components; no single certificate applies to every souvenir.
What if the bulk goods differ from the approved sample?
Agree defect categories, sampling method, acceptance limits, claim evidence, deadline and remedies before the deposit. Record the approved sample and artwork version. If an inspection fails, document affected quantities, request corrective action and agree reinspection and release conditions; refunds or replacements depend on the written agreement.
