Share your destination, installation scenario, desired model or power rating, order quantity, required certifications and delivery date to start a sourcing discussion.

1. Select a module for the project
Cell material, cell technology and module construction describe different things. Mono- and polycrystalline refer to silicon material; TOPCon, PERC and HJT refer to cell technologies; bifacial describes light collection from two sides, while glass-glass describes construction. Compare products by the current manufacturer datasheet and the needs of the installation.
| Option | Potential use | Buyer checks |
|---|---|---|
| Monocrystalline modules | Residential, commercial and utility projects | Exact cell technology, wattage, dimensions and electrical ratings |
| TOPCon, PERC or HJT | Different module families and performance profiles | Datasheet, power tolerance, warranty and compatible design |
| Bifacial or glass-glass | Projects with suitable mounting and rear-side light | Weight, mounting requirements and documented test conditions |
| Flexible or folding | Portable or selected non-standard installations | Bend limits, fastening, durability and warranty exclusions |
For a concrete comparison, JinkoSolar’s JKM580–605N-72HL4-(V) datasheet lists 580–605 W, 22.45–23.42% module efficiency, and 0 to +3% power tolerance under specified standard test conditions: 1,000 W/m² irradiance, cell temperature 25°C and AM 1.5. These values apply to that datasheet and are not a quote or claim for all manufacturers. Read the manufacturer datasheet; confirm its latest revision and model availability.

Compare four manufacturer-published module examples
These examples illustrate how to read datasheets, not current offers, a ranking or confirmation of available stock. Values are manufacturer-published figures under STC; compare the exact revision and installation conditions. Different sizes and use cases mean the highest wattage is not automatically the best purchase. Confirm manufacturing origin, seller, model-specific certificate and warranty before ordering.
| Manufacturer / exact model | STC power / efficiency | Voc | Dimensions / weight | Source and use |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| JinkoSolar JKM605N-72HL4-(V) | 605 W / 23.42% | 53.11 V | 2278 × 1134 × 30 mm / 27.0 kg | N-type mono; F10 datasheet |
| OSDA ODA450-27V-MHD | 450 W / 23.04% | 39.75 V ± 3% | 1722 × 1134 × 30 mm / 24.70 kg | N-type bifacial, double glass; manufacturer datasheet |
| JA Solar JAM54D41-440/LB | 440 W / 22.0% | 38.90 V | 1762 × 1134 × 30 mm / 22 kg | N-type bifacial, double glass; Aus-EN-20250109A datasheet; manufacturer states China/Vietnam origins, confirm ordered batch |
| DAH Solar DHN-48Z16-DG(MM), 430 W version | 430 W / 21.52% | 35.56 V | 1762 × 1134 × 30 mm / 23.9 kg | N-type colored module; manufacturer product specification |
STC means 1,000 W/m² irradiance, cell temperature 25°C and AM 1.5; real output varies. Manufacturer product pages and datasheets checked 06 November 2026; figures are not HunterSourcing test results and may change. Before installation, a qualified designer should assess temperature-adjusted voltages, protection, mechanical loads and inverter compatibility.

3. Compare quotations and landed cost
Request the same power bin, model, quantity, packaging, delivery location and warranty for each offer. Specify currency, quote validity, taxes and Incoterm. MOQ, production slots and sample fees depend on the seller and project; request them in writing rather than relying on a universal number.
| Quote item | Supplier A | Supplier B | What to compare |
|---|---|---|---|
| Manufacturer, plant and model | To be quoted | To be quoted | Exact legal seller, model and power bin |
| Quantity, MOQ and price | To be quoted | To be quoted | Price per module and per watt; currency and validity |
| Packaging and delivery | To be quoted | To be quoted | Modules per pallet, named Incoterm location and freight inclusions |
| Certificates and testing | To be quoted | To be quoted | Model and factory scope, inspection method and fees |
| Warranty and payment | To be agreed | To be agreed | Guarantor, claim process, deposit and balance milestones |
Illustration only: for 1,000 modules rated at 580 W each, total nameplate capacity is 580,000 W. If the module quote is hypothetically USD 0.12/W, the module subtotal is USD 69,600 before freight, duties, insurance, inspection and other charges. This is a made-up calculation, not a current market price or HunterSourcing offer. Divide the actual sum of all applicable costs by the actual wattage to compare landed cost per watt.
Include every landed-cost component
Compare on the same named Incoterm and destination: total = module invoice + tooling or branding + packaging + inspection + inland transport + export handling + ocean or air freight + insurance + destination terminal and clearance charges + applicable duty and tax + delivery to your warehouse. Include only charges borne by the buyer and avoid double-counting amounts already included in a CIF or DDP quote. Duties and taxes depend on destination, origin, classification and current law; ask the broker for a written estimate.
Quote comparison checklist: ask for model and revision, minimum quantity per model, USD/W and USD/module, packaging, lead-time starting point, payment milestones, quote expiry, validity of documentation and the exact warranty issuer. The table above intentionally leaves commercial offers blank until an actual quote is obtained.
4. Certification, quality checks and acceptance
Ask for certificate number, certificate holder, issuing body, manufacturing site, covered model and test-report scope. IEC 61215 covers design qualification and type approval; IEC 61730 addresses module safety qualification. Check applicable editions and destination rules with the issuing body and local professionals. A company-level certificate does not automatically cover every module.
IEC 61215-1:2021 · IEC 61730-1:2023.
| Stage | Checks to agree | Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Before production | Model, bill of materials, label, criteria and sample plan | Signed specification and model-specific datasheet |
| Production and final inspection | Visual condition, serial numbers, labels, packaging; flash and EL checks if contracted | Inspection report, photos, traceability and agreed test records |
| Defect found | Identify quantities, document defects and seek buyer decision on corrective action | Defect list, supplier response and written reinspection terms |
| Shipment | Check pallet/carton condition and loading method | Approved packing list and shipping photographs where agreed |
If only some units fail, ship conforming goods separately only with the buyer’s written approval; the remainder may be corrected and reinspected. If a larger portion fails, report it and agree supplier corrective action and reinspection. The buyer decides whether to accept, reject or abandon the order under the contract. Our quality-inspection service and blank inspection template show the process; the template is not a completed project report.
5. Shipping, warranty and buyer scenarios
Distributor: confirm authorization, mixed quantities, spare units and who handles local claims. EPC project: match the model, delivery batches, electrical design, certificates and traceability to the project specification. Small off-grid buyer: assess MOQ, compatibility, packaging, freight and whether local support is practical.
Separate product warranty from power-performance warranty. Confirm the guarantor, duration for the exact model, exclusions, claim evidence, testing, return freight and replacement logistics in the written warranty. Check local import duties, product-origin and installation rules for the destination with qualified advisors. Review shipping support and product sourcing.
